Miss India Earth 2011 Hasleen Kaur supports LGBT rights
22-year old Hasleen Kaur who was recently crowned Miss India Earth believes in equality for all. The leggy beauty feels that sexual orientation shouldn't become grounds for social discrimination.
Her comments come in lieu of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) community's celebration of LGBT Pride month and also at a time when India's Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has spoken up against Gay sex and called homosexuality a 'disease spread by developed countries'.
Says Hasleen, "Why do we define boundries of love based on sexual orientation? I don't understand why we should discriminate against a non-heterosexual. They're completly normal people with the ability to love.
Their sexual orientation should in no way be a barrier in watever they do. Whether it be obtaining jobs, education, a decent place in their family or a loving partner." The beauty queen spoke up in support of the community and expressed her concern for equal rights for everyone. Now here's a beauty with brains!
